Erin Mcphee

A proven storyteller and a strong communicator, Erin brings two decades of professional public affairs and journalism experience to her role with m5 Public Affairs.

Erin joined m5 Public Affairs in 2022 after returning to her home province of New Brunswick from British Columbia where she spent 18 years honing her skills in Vancouver and Victoria. In B.C., she worked as a public affairs officer for the provincial government’s Ministry of Education. In that role, she gained vital experience in strategic communications planning and materials production, conducted daily media monitoring, helped launch a major public awareness campaign focused on student safety, and organized large-scale events featuring both the Premier and Minister of Education.

Erin’s journalism experience includes more than a decade as a reporter and editor at North Vancouver’s North Shore News. While in that role she was awarded a number of national and regional writing awards. Closer to home, Erin has also worked as a content editor for Brunswick News, based out of the Telegraph-Journal in Saint John, N.B. Her articles have appeared in countless newspapers and magazines from coast to coast.

Erin received a Master’s in Journalism from the University of British Columbia, and an Honours in English and a Major in Media Studies from St. Thomas University.
