Paul joined m5 Public Affairs from EY’s oil and gas consulting group in London UK where he was a Project Manager on high-value high-risk markets ranging from Central Asia to South America.

That assignment was preceded by several years at BMI-Fitch Group in London as an “above ground” risk analyst for energy firms working in Africa and Asia.

His Canadian government relations and communications experience includes 10 years as Managing Director of an offshore oil and gas industry association and a one-year consultancy term as Executive Director of a national industry association for offshore wind and instream tidal developers. A former journalist, government spokesperson, and political assistant in Ottawa, his network of contacts within the governmental, regulatory, and industry sectors are strong and cordial. A specialist in regulatory assignments as well as crisis communications, Paul has conducted assignments at m5 Public Affairs for such clients as Lafarge, Shell, BHP, McKesson Canada, and others in the industrial sphere.

His portfolio of clients includes universities and renewable energy firms and as a former journalist he likes nothing more than playing the aggressive interrogator in our media training/crisis communications practice.

McEachern is a graduate of Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK, holding a Master of Business Administration in Oil & Gas/Energy Management & Economics (MBA).
